The Youth Photo League is a dream of mine and would exist as a non-profit, youth-driven photography collective aimed to educate and promote the work of youth photographers from 12-18 years of age. Programs would be offered to teach basic to advanced photography concepts and skills, offer platforms for youth to showcase their work, help students apply for art-based scholarships and one-on-one mentorship. The program would be offered to all youth and scholarships, cameras and equipment would be available so that anyone could participate. There are not a lot of programs geared toward teaching and promoting youth photographers here in Denver. The goal is to start a chapter in Denver then expand to other cities. This project is in its infancy stage, but funds collected would go towards supporting the startup/promotion.
